Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Siam Surgery

Siam Surgery is a semi-rural GMS practice which provides a high level of care to just over 12,000 patients in Sudbury, Suffolk and its surrounding villages.

We are a well-established, friendly and supportive practice who are looking to welcome a Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Nurse Practitioner into our growing team.

The Practice:

  • Stable Partnership of 3 GPs supported by a dedicated team of 4 Nurse Practitioners, 3 Practice Nurses and a Trainee Nursing Associate
  • Large multi skilled non-clinical team
  • Part of a 2 practice PCN with an excellent team of multidisciplinary staff integrated into the practice (first contact physio, paramedic, mental health practitioners, clinical pharmacists, social prescribers and care coordinators)
  • SystmOne clinical system
  • Rated good in all areas by CQC

The Role:

  • Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Nurse Practitioner
  • Permanent full time position, part-time can also be considered
  • Hours are negotiable
  • Face to face and telephone consultations
  • Home visits
  • Triage (not a total triage model)
  • Working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice team

Our Requirements:

Qualifications

  • MSc/Degree in Advanced Nursing or RCN accreditation of Masters level study
  • Independent prescribing qualification

Knowledge/Skills

  • Advanced clinical assessment and examination skills
  • Management of patients with long-term health conditions
  • Management of patients with complex physical/psychological/social needs
  • Management of palliative and end of life patients

Experience

  • Recent Nurse Practitioner experience in General Practice
  • Nurse-led management of minor illness, minor ailments and injuries
  • Experience of SystmOne and ARDENS is desirable but not essential
