Job Details

Hardwicke House Group Practice operates out of 4 surgery sites in and around the growing market town of Sudbury.  We look after 24,000 patients and a number of local care homes and we are members of the Sudbury and West Suffolk Rural PCN, working collaboratively with our 3 PCN partners and our local community. In total we employ close to 100 staff and we have an active social and wellbeing culture, regularly organising events for our staff and we also support a number of charities annually.  We are a training practice supporting trainee GPs, nurses, paramedics, trainee pharmacists and Cambridge University year 6 medical students and we have been recognised and awarded as a Learning Organisation to reflect the high standard of support we provide to learning and development of our own team and our external trainees.  We are proud to have been awarded a Carer Friendly surgery from the Suffolk Family Carers and achieved Dementia Friendly status by the Alzheimers’ Society.  Our patients benefit from the proactive involvement of our Patient Partnership Group, who have been nominated for national awards for their work supporting patients and the practice.

Our practice:

  • A longstanding Partnership of 7 partner GPs supported by a knowledgeable and experienced clinical team of 6 salaried GPs, 3 ANPs, 3 PCN Community Paramedics,11 nurses and 2 HCAs.
  • Supported by our experienced PCN colleagues – Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers and Care Coordinators.
  • Dispensing practice with dispensaries on 2 of our surgery sites.
  • Large, multi-skilled non-clinical team.
  • Rated good in all areas by CQC.
  • High QOF and IiF achievement.
  • Good reputation and high level of patient satisfaction
  • Excellent staff retention and staff satisfaction – 91% rate the practice as a Great Place to Work.
  • Not operating a total triage model.

The role:

  • Salaried GP
  • 6-8 sessions per week (may suit 2 x 4 session GPs)
  • EMIS Web clinical system
  • 6 weeks annual leave plus 1 week study leave (pro rata)
