Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Practice Administrator to join our friendly workforce. The Practice Administrator will be responsible for supporting the practice manager with general admin while working closely with all members of the team with all various administrative duties. This is a very exciting and varied role and would ideally suit someone who likes a challenge. If this is you we would love to hear from you.

Previous experience of working within a GP practice environment and a working knowledge of SystmOne would be a definite advantage.

Main duties of the job

Oversee staff mandatory training.

Assist with inductions and programmes of work for new staff including locum staff.

Action emails as directed by the Operations Manager.

Ensure all complaints and incidents are correctly recorded within Datix and to run and document Practice Learning Event meetings.

Assist reception team leader with reception administrative tasks

Job description

Job responsibilities

Practice Administrator roleis to oversee and take responsibility for theadministrativeaspects of the practice. They are responsible for various administrative duties and accountable to the Operations Manager and Partners.

They work closely with all members of the practice to meet agreed partnership aims and objectives within a profitable, efficient, safe and effective working environment and maintaining a happy and committed team.

Main areas of responsibility include

Oversee staff mandatory training.

Assist with inductions and programmes of work for new staff including locum staff.

Action emails as directed by the Operations Manager.

Ensure all complaints and incidents are correctly recorded within Datix and to run and document Practice Learning Event meetings.

Assist reception team leader with reception administrative tasks

Any other administrative duties the practice feel is relevant to the role.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • IT literate
  • Sound keyboard and computer skills including use of Microsoft Office, NHS net email.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, telephones, photocopiers, fax machines, scanners
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to check and re-check work to ensure high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to work on repetitive and regular tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to escalate problems/issues as required

Desirable

  • Experience of working in primary care.
  • Knowledge of SystmOne
  • Knowledge of or experience of medical terminology

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE Grade 4 to 9, or A to C in English and Maths
  • Strong organisational skills Excellent communication skills Excellent IT skills Highly competent in the use of Office and Outlook
