Salaried GP – Stanton Surgery.

Job Details

Stanton Surgery is currently looking to recruit a salaried GP with the opportunity for future partnership.  We are a rural dispensing and training practice located in the village of Stanton, set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside close to Bury St Edmunds. We serve a stable population of approx. 5300 patients. We offer flexible working of 4-8 sessions per week.

We are a 2 partner GMS practice, and work alongside our 2 salaried GP’s and two regular long term locums. We offer a supportive happy environment, and were recently approved as a GP training practice. We already have our first two GP trainees working alongside us, and in the future we aim to host nursing students also.

We offer traditional General Practice and we will be very supportive towards developing personal interests. We currently offer Diabetes care, LARC and minor surgery as additional personal interests.

We have a team of 3 nurses, and work closely with our PCN colleagues who visit the surgery weekly, such as a Social Prescriber, Mental Health link worker, Mental Health worker and Physio. We are part of Blackbourne PCN which consists of 4 rural surgeries. A Diabetes Nurse Specialist also visits monthly and holds a clinic at the practice.

Our reception and admin teams provide excellent support to our clinical teams.

We have a low home visiting rate shared with all doctors.

We work in modern purpose built premises, which have recently been extended and provide a bright and airy setting in which to work.

We are forward thinking, and always looking for new ways to do things to ensure we provide the best possible care for our patients. We recently changed our dispensary software, and are the second dispensing practice in the country to utilise this software, which is normally used in pharmacies.

Benefits include:

Competitive salary
Medical indemnity paid by the practice
Six weeks annual leave entitlement plus one week study leave pro rata.

The practice has above average remuneration. We are rated GOOD across all areas by CQC.

Systems to support you include EMIS WEB and DOCMAN, although we are moving to SystmOne in January 2024.

We actively encourage informal visits, to meet our friendly team.

To apply or arrange a visit, please submit your CV, with a covering letter to s.portway@nhs.net

Closing date Monday 8th January 2024.
