Operations/HR Manager – 40 hours per week

Stanton Surgery has an exciting opportunity for an Operations/HR Manager to work alongside a Clinical Services Manager and Dispensary Manager. Together the management team will oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the practice, working closely with the two GP Partners. The Management Team will also liaise regularly to look at ways to continually develop the practice in line with the Partners’ vision.

We are a rural dispensing and training practice located in the village of Stanton, set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside close to Bury St Edmunds. We serve a stable population of approximately 5300 patients.

We are looking for a confident and personable Manager, who will always strive to make a difference for the patients registered with us, and who is a team player. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the practice and also HR (with external specialist support available as needed) for all staff members. You will be able to problem solve and develop and input into new ways of working.

We are a two-partner GMS practice. We offer a supportive happy environment, and last year we were approved as a GP training practice. We already have GP trainees working alongside us, and in the future, we aim to host nursing students.

We offer traditional General practice. We currently offer diabetes care, LARC, and minor surgery as additional personal interests.

We have a team of three nurses and work closely with our PCN colleagues who visit the surgery weekly, such as a Social Prescriber, Mental Health link worker, Primary Mental Health worker, and Physiotherapist. We are part of Blackbourne PCN which consists of four rural practices. A Diabetes Nurse Specialist also visits monthly and holds a clinic at the practice. We have also recently recruited two Urgent Care Practitioners.

Our reception and administrative teams provide excellent support to our clinical teams.

We work in modern purpose-built premises, which have recently been extended and provide a bright and airy setting in which to work.

We are forward-thinking and always looking for new ways to do things to ensure we provide the best possible care for our patients. For example, we recently installed new dispensary software and were only the second dispensing practice in the country to utilise this software, which is normally used in pharmacies. Our clinical system is SystmOne.

We are rated GOOD across all areas by CQC.

We actively encourage informal visits to meet our friendly team.

Remuneration is dependent on experience.

To apply or arrange a visit, please submit your CV with a cover letter to n.redman@nhs.net

Closing date 30th April 2024
