Hours: 20 hours per week.
Combs Ford Surgery is looking to recruit a Qualified Dispenser. This is a busy role where you will need to be extremely organized with the ability to assist in the day to day running of the Surgeries Pharmacy. The interview date will be 7th June, there will be a minimum of 2 people on the interview panel.
Main duties of the job
Take requests for prescription repeats
Assembling prescription items for dispensing
Issuing stock items and prepared prescriptions
Collection of charges for prescriptions and private treatment/checking patient exemption statements
Cash handling
Remove out of date stock from shelves, refrigerator and dispose of accordingly
Disposal of returned, unused medications
Ordering appropriate quantities of goods via the wholesalers computer link

Job Summary
The post-holder will project a positive and friendly image to dispensary patients and other visitors and deal with queries in a professional, courteous and efficient way.
Assist in the preparation, dispensing and sale of prescriptions and medicines/appliances and assist with stock control, ordering and re-stocking of the dispensary.
Key Responsibilities

Collection of charges for prescriptions and private treatment/checking patient exemption statements
Cash handling
Remove out of date stock from shelves, refrigerator and dispose of accordingly
Disposal of returned, unused medications
Ordering appropriate quantities of goods via the wholesalers computer link
Operation of efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the dispensary with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimising wastage
Check incoming stock against the invoice. Enter stock onto EMIS Web for stock control. Identify any errors in incoming stock and report to wholesaler and re-order item if necessary
Return incorrect/damaged goods to wholesalers
Ensuring that drugs are received and stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with the manufacturers instructions
Ensuring that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and maintaining the temperature control record/logbook
Cleaning work surfaces and shelving on a regular basis and ensuring that that all dispensary equipment is kept clean and kept in good working order.
Maintaining full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions.
Undertaking other reasonable duties within the framework of the post as directed by the Dispensary Lead

Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ2 in dispensing
- GCSE grade A to C
Experience
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a GP Practice
